Wolfville’s population is approximately 4,200 residents, although it grows significantly during Acadia University’s academic year. Wolfville’s residents can easily have the best of both worlds: a small-town quality of life, with quick access to the city. Downtown Halifax and its amenities are less than an hour drive from Wolfville, making it a great home base from which to experience it all. For frequent flyers, Stanfield International Airport is your gateway to multiple international destinations, and only 60 minutes from Latitude 45’s door.
Food & Culture
Wolfville has Nova Scotia’s most diverse population, with more than 12% of the Town’s residents being born outside of Canada (compared to around 5% for Nova Scotia, as a whole). This is just one of the many unique features about Wolfville, and one that is widely celebrated and reflected throughout town.
Regardless of your palate, you’ll find many options to enjoy in this food and beverage destination. Parks & Recreation
Wolfville and surrounding communities are a nature-lover’s dream, in all seasons. There are multiple parks, trails, and beaches to explore within minutes of downtown Wolfville, and Latitude 45. Waterfront Park, The Harvest Moon Trail, The Dykelands, Evangeline Beach, Acadia’s Woodland Trails and Reservoir Park Trail are a few of the better-known examples. The Harvest Moon Trail and Waterfront Park are accessed directly behind Latitude 45. Imagine having Mother Nature’s treadmill in your backyard! Cape Split and Blomidon Provincial Park are both within 20 minutes of Wolfville. Residents can easily head there using one of Latitude 45’s shared vehicles.
When winter hits, Ski Martock is less than 30 minutes by car from Wolfville. If you’ve always wanted to try snowshoeing or extreme mountain biking, Wolfville’s adventurous community groups would be happy to teach you the ins-and-outs and recommend nearby destinations.
If you want to slow down the pace, Willow Park’s shaded benches are the perfect spot to quietly relax and enjoy a great read – simply head across the street and you’re there.
For cold or rainy days, Acadia University’s Athletic Complex is just a kilometer from Latitude 45. There you’ll find a large gymnasium, indoor pool, new fitness centre, group fitness and dance studio(s), squash and racquetball courts, indoor walking track, arena, and more.
Acadia University
Acadia University is a pillar of Wolfville’s community, and very positive contributor to Wolfville’s culture, amenities and streetscape. When University is in session, the town welcomes new and returning students with open arms. Acadia has earned an exceptional reputation, consistently ranked as a top undergraduate university by Maclean’s magazine.
Residents of Wolfville have access to the campus’ exceptional facilities, including the newly renovated Athletics Complex, Vaughan Memorial Library, Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens, K.C. Irving Environmental Science Building and Festival Theatre, to name a few.
